CHOLULA, PUEBLA, MX
Yasmin and Maarten are getting married, and once the formalities are done, the whole thing moves to Mexico. On the 11th of December 2026 we're having an evening celebrating in Cholula, in the shadow of the volcanoes, with sunshine, long tables, music that runs late, and more tacos than is strictly sensible. Everything you need is below. Bring SPF 50 and an appetite — see you in Puebla.
Evening Itinerary
From 19:00 — Welcome drinks as the sun drops. Please be on time.
At 20:30 — Dinner beneath the glass roof with the gardens all around.
From 22:00 — The music takes over and won't stop…
…into the small hours — Breakfast, once you've earned it.
Then home to Cholula whenever the night releases you.

Wedding Location
Hacienda San José Actipan — a restored hacienda among gardens, stone arches and courtyards, about 15 minutes from Cholula with the volcanoes on the horizon. Tonantzintla Hacienda, Km 2.1 Carretera Cholula, San José Actipan. Map ↗
RSVP Deadline
RSVP by August 31st via the following link →. We need to know how many plates to fill and how much mezcal to pour. Please don't leave us guessing. A yes is a yes; silence will be counted as a no — a pity, if you've already booked the flight.
Dress Code
Dress code: Summer cocktail. Think suits and good dresses. It's an evening celebration, so dress for one. We care about looking sharp, but mostly about everyone being comfortable enough to dance. And honestly, we'd love to give you an excuse to overdress — just don't go full black tie on us.
It's December at altitude, so it turns properly cold once the sun's down. We will have heaters, but just in case: bring a jacket or a wrap you can dance in. And it's a hacienda, with grass and stone underfoot, so go easy on thin heels.
One firm rule: no white sneakers. You know who you are.

Trip to Puebla (getting there from CDMX)
Most of you will land at Mexico City airport (MEX), not Puebla — it's the better-connected arrival from Europe. From there, skip the taxi (expensive and slow) and take the bus: Estrella Roja and ADO both run comfortable, air-conditioned coaches straight from the airport, roughly every 30 minutes from early morning into the night. The ride is about 2 to 2½ hours and costs around 400–500 pesos (€20–€25). The buses go to Puebla, not Cholula directly, so head for the "Paseo Destino" terminal and grab an Uber for the last 20 minutes to Cholula. Buy tickets on the day at the airport counters (follow signs for Transporte Terrestre), or book ahead at estrellaroja.com.mx or the ADO app.
Driving's possible, but honestly not something we'd push. Mexican roads take some getting used to, and at night, after a few drinks, they're best left alone. The party also falls on the eve of the Virgen de Guadalupe (see below) — pilgrims walk the roads near Mexico City in their thousands, sometimes the highways themselves, which makes driving genuinely risky that night. If someone's set on a car anyway, rent it in Puebla rather than CDMX. But for almost everyone, the bus is the easy, cheap, comfortable way in.
Contact Persons
Anything you need before or during the trip — these are your people. Message them on WhatsApp; they're happy to help with logistics, directions, questions about the wedding itself, or last-minute panic.

Weather
December in Cholula is dry and bright by day, properly cold once the sun drops (considering you're at at 2,100 metres). Days call for sunglasses and SPF, evenings for a real jacket. Don't be fooled by the daytime sun.
Getting Around
Uber is the easy default here. Cheap, everywhere, and it takes the guesswork out of taxis. Download it before you fly and keep a bit of cash on you for smaller places. Beyond that, Puebla and Cholula are normal cities; the common sense you'd use anywhere applies.
Visit Puebla
You've come a long way. Stay a while. Puebla is one of Mexico's great food cities (this is the home of mole poblano and chiles en nogada), with a colonial centre of tiled façades, baroque churches and more places to eat than you'll manage in a week.
Closer to where you're staying, Cholula is built around the largest pyramid in the world by volume, with a church perched on top and, on a clear day, the Popocatépetl volcano smoking on the horizon. Worth the climb at golden hour.
For the volcano up close, head to Atlixco — a flower-filled town about 40 minutes south, where Popo dominates the skyline from almost everywhere. Climb the Cerro de San Miguel for the best view, ideally at sunset.
If you've got more time, Oaxaca is a few hours south and unmissable — food, mezcal, craft. And Mexico City on the way back is a non-negotiable.
Guadalupe
The 12th of December is the Day of the Virgen de Guadalupe, Mexico's biggest religious holiday. Pilgrimages, processions, and the country will be running at half speed. Beautiful to witness, but a bad day to travel. If you're moving on the 12th, build in extra time. Or don't, and recover from the party instead.
Gifts
Please don't carry gifts across the ocean — customs and suitcases make it a hassle for everyone. If you'd still like to give something, have a word with one of our contacts and they'll point you the right way.
Warm-Up
Flying in early? Join us for a casual drink in Cholula the night before. No plan, no dress code, just whoever's around. Spot and time to follow.
